Learning to Let Go of Expectation

In the end, we're all only human.

Something I’ve been ruminating recently is expectation and the mental load that comes with it, when you let expectation rule your mind. Since we’re all only human, we naturally expect situations to play out in a certain way or assume that a conversation might go exactly as we’d imagined in our heads. But, we are all only human, and life loves a darned curveball.

I recently moved into a new notebook for my almost-daily long-form journalling practice. Whenever I migrate into a new journal, I love to take an hour or three to flip back through its pages and read back my entries, months after having penned them. Reading back old journal entries? I bet that’s embarrassing.
