It looks like you had a great reading month!

Ooh I’m just about to start Beloved (first Toni Morrison) and I still have to finish the DoTMG series + Immortal 😭

p.s. i love your Cornelia St Kindle sticker so much!

I just want your Kindle 😂😂

Take it slow with Beloved, it's not the easiest one to start with! Sula was a better introduction to her style, I'd say ☺️

And thank you so much!! All Etsy finds: TheJoliStudio (holographic ones), ThisPaperbackLifeCo (Cornelia Street), blindgoldrush (Cruel Summer) if you want to pick the same ones up that I have ❤️

I've been quite curious about Bethnal Green and wonder if it also includes neighbourhood descriptions. I used to live there in London and would love to read about a '70s version of it. I can't wait to get my hands on Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan—I absolutely loved the Daughter of the Moon Goddess duology! This past weekend, I found a beautiful second-hand copy of Beloved by Toni Morrison ♡

My favourite book of January was also my first read of the year: And the Stones Cry Out by Clara Dupont-Monod. It's a deeply moving story about sibling dynamics, with one child condemned to remain an eternal baby. It truly pulled at my heartstrings from start to finish!

What a wonderful idea! The bookshop/cafe looks almost like The Albertine in New York, but I realize it isn't.

I'll add that bookshop to my list ;)

You'll love it! Incredibly immersive and well-paced, feminist high fantasy!

Wheeeew Michelle nine books in a month is INCREDIBLE!!! Loved reading this, as always. Though I'm trying to follow in your footsteps and not buy any brand new books this year, I will be keeping an eye out for The Priory of the Orange Tree!

Thanks Soph! Can you tell I had no money to go out and do fun things?!

And yesss! If you can snag a library copy or secondhand, it's absolutely worth your time. If anything, I'm annoyed that I didn't get to it sooner!

I loved reading this Michelle! Bethnal Green is on my TBR for this year and I'm really excited, especially about the Malaysian element. I read Orbital as my last book last year.

It was a really sweet read! What did you make of Orbital?

It was! I appreciated the concept of Orbital, but I must admit it’s not my favourite book.

That's how I felt too. Some beautiful writing, but I couldn't get over the lack of plotting and any sort of proper through story.

I’m currently listening to Immortal and am loving it so far! Glad to hear that you liked it 😊 My wrap-up will be up tomorrow, as I’m still working on writing the life section 😅

It's great, isn't it? Gutted I didn't love it as entirely as I wanted to. Can't wait to read your book report ;)
