As someone who is awful for overestimating what they can feasibly achieve in a week, a day, or even an hour, this sounds like such a wonderful concept!! I need to remind myself that gradual small actions/improvements are the way to go. Loved this piece 💜
Yes!! My thought was that we're only human, we're not made to check off a robotic list every day AND somehow improve ourselves beyond how busy everyday life is. 1% every day is easier to manage, and has really helped me to develop good habits based on what my real everyday life looks like. Thanks so much Harriet ❤️
I love this! I’ve been doing something similar by focusing on one thing per week—trying it out, seeing if I like it, if it makes me happy, and most of all, if it sticks naturally. If it doesn’t, then maybe it was right for that particular moment in my life, or maybe it wasn’t—and that’s fine. I don’t want to pressure myself with anything. Just giving each day that little extra something already feels like a win in my books :)
Oo I love that for you. I just really think we weren't made to be robots checking off a list mechanically every day 😂 One day at a time, one small habit at a time, has really worked for me. Each day brings a different obstacle, don't you think?!
I love this Michelle, and might actually steal the idea myself. I think many of us try to do it all at once and end up crashing and burning, whereas building 1% each day is much more sustainable.
Would love to see a bulleted list of little things you've added over the year <3

Yes, you absolutely should! It's been such a success for me.
I shared a lot of them here: https://daisybutter.com/2025/01/seemingly-small-upgrades-to-my-everyday/ ❤️
Ahh thank you! Funnily enough I picked up some peppermint tea at the weekend because I need to start drinking it. Love this list <3
As a huge fan of the book Atomic Habits, I resonated a lot with this post. Thanks for the reminder!!
Oo I've been meaning to read that for a while but never quite get on with that genre of non-fiction 😂 Glad this resonated!
I love this one! Little, consistent changes are the ones that make an impact in the long run. ❤︎
Thanks Epsita!! It's been such a great mantra for me, and I really 'improved' my life so much in 2024 by building towards what I wanted, slowly.
Would love to hear examples of how you do 1% better everyday! I want to try it but my ideas are a little dry 😅
I wrote a blog post all about it on Daisybutter! https://daisybutter.com/2025/01/seemingly-small-upgrades-to-my-everyday/
