Wooo congrats on reaching your Goodreads goal!! Hope you're enjoying The Shining, I definitely recommend Carrie after reading it last week - it was so good and not really 'horror' IMO.
Where are you off to for a fortnight? Have a safe journey!
I love how you've written about autumn here. It's truly the best <3
"Almost-neon red leaves, tumbling to the ground. Magical, even when the rain is bucketing down. Perhaps magical because the rain is bucketing down, ruffling leaves, feathers and hair as it does. Autumn is such a feast for the senses and I’m surprised and delighted every single year." - this is simply gorgeous, Michelle. I can see it so vividly in my mind.
How exciting that you're heading to Asia!! I hope you have a safe journey, and can't wait to see what you get up to! Your little lists of joy are quickly becoming the highlight of my Friday afternoons 💗
Thanks so much Ella! I always say I don’t have a favourite season, and then I write sentences like these off the cuff and realise I am absolutely biased towards autumn.
Can’t wait to share some of our visit home with you all next month!
I haven’t picked up a Stephen King book in years. I’m tempted to revisit after seeing this post, so many to choose from though.
Also congratulations on the 60 books! I’m currently on 27, out of my goal of 34. Which feels relatively low in comparison, but I think 3 years ago I only read 6 in a year, so it’s definitely picking up (thankfully!)
I’m sure you’re already planning something similar but it would be amazing to hear what your top reads were out of your reading challenge!
I’m loving The Shining so far, and will definitely pick up more!
Thanks ☺️ 27 is so many!! Everybody has their own reading pace and other hobbies (whereas all I seem to do is read and cook)! I think I’ll pare my reading back a bit next year. Maybe I need to balance it with at least a few TV shows here and there.

Thanks Soph! Enjoying The Shining so far, it’s beautifully written and so evocative. I’m a little bit scared of what’s to come!
We’re headed ‘home’ to Malaysia and Hong Kong to visit family and enjoy a big break all together (:
